The online M.S. in Entrepreneurship program provides students with the knowledge, confidence and practical experience to navigate their own paths to entrepreneurial success. Students can complete the program in as few as 15 months.
The 30-credit curriculum comprises strategically selected courses that focus on the skills that all entrepreneurs need, culminating in a capstone in which students build a new venture business plan from the ground up.

The program can be completed in as few as 15 months. Students will graduate prepared to effectively manage organizational resources, including financial capital, human capital, technology resources, and processes; gather and analyze data to understand business challenges; generate innovative solutions to new and existing business problems; evaluate business opportunities and apply approaches for mitigating and managing risks; and construct bootstrap financing options and articulate processes for acquiring venture capital.
Now, students seeking specialized business expertise in multiple areas can earn two master’s degrees from the Whitman School or other schools at Syracuse University for fewer credits. Earning an additional degree allows students to develop more versatile skill sets that will expand their career opportunities.
Eligible students must meet the core requirements of the M.S. in Entrepreneurship and plan the rest of their coursework to take advantage of shared courses. At Whitman, students can pursue one of the following degree combinations:
M.S. in Entrepreneurship (30 credits) and MBA (54 credits) for as few as 69 credits
M.S. in Entrepreneurship (30 credits) and M.S. in Business Analytics (36 credits) for as few as 54 credits
M.S. in Entrepreneurship (30 credits) and M.S. in Professional Accounting (30–48 credits) for as few as 51–69 credits
At Syracuse Business, master’s students are welcome to attend a residency as a part of their degree program when the topics are relevant. These three-day residencies are designed similarly to business conferences, encompassing experiential learning, insightful talks from prominent speakers, and interactive panels. They also provide invaluable networking opportunities, allowing students to meet their peers and professors face-to-face. Residencies are held either on campus, in the U.S., or abroad.

The online MS in entrepreneurship program offers start dates for the entrepreneurship program four times per year. Applicants who apply by the priority deadlines will pay a reduced fee of $45, receive an admissions decision sooner and have more time to plan for the future. Applications are now being accepted for the July 2024 cohort.
The final deadline for the July 2024 cohort is May 9, 2024.
To apply to the program, candidates must submit an online application, personal essay, letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and resume or CV. A viable business proposal is also required for admission.

Whitman is one of the few schools in the United States with a formal academic department devoted to entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises (EEE) department provides students with the tools and business perspective to bring out their creative potential.
Whitman is also home to the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship, a hub of resources, community initiatives and professional opportunities to spark creativity and entrepreneurial activity. Online students are welcome to take advantage of these resources, and students anywhere may enter the annual Panasci Business Plan Competition, in which contestants submit a business plan to compete for seed funding for a business or idea.
The Whitman School’s EEE department recently received the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education Award from the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). Named the USASBE Model Program for 2018, the EEE department was recognized for providing comprehensive, bold, high-quality educational programs that train future generations of entrepreneurs.
In 2017, the Whitman School was recognized in the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International’s Entrepreneurship Spotlight Challenge for their commitment to creating business innovation and fostering entrepreneurship in the next generation of business leaders. Whitman is one of only 35 schools in the world to earn this distinction.
